ARTIST STATEMENT

The main ideas of my work are closely connected with the spiritual purpose of my life. The development of creativity and the development of personality always go hand in hand. Creativity is my way of life and way of communicating with the world; this is my development path.

I explore the rapid changes in our world, the relationship between man and these changes. I also try to take into account my tasks, my mission in this world, my connection with everything living on the planet, and I express this in my works.

I have always been interested in knowing the world around us, its structure and that invisible component that can give us the strength to live in our difficult world in order to find meaning and joy in every day of our lives.

Nowadays it becomes difficult to separate oneself as a whole. I am part of what surrounds me. We all live on the same planet, breathe the same air, drink the same water and are in the same information space. This implies mutual assistance and coordinated actions to protect our planet from environmental disaster and create a comfortable world for living.

I try to give my work an aesthetic and intellectual dimension and leave room for the interpretation of each work by the viewer. My work invites viewers to see what lies beyond it and to recognize the emergence within us of a sense of flow that brings a personality to a new level of possibilities and perspectives.

I try to create my art in order to draw the attention of viewers to issues that concern me and many others. Each work carries a certain message.

Creativity brings me pleasure and fills my life with meaning. He heals my soul and lights a fire within me. It gives me the strength to move on in our complex world.

BIOGRAPHY

I was born and grew up in Ukraine. For a long time, I lived in Russia. Recently I traveled the world for
7 years and lived in different countries. Now I live in America. I found my new home in Houston, Texas. But wherever I have lived, creativity has always been present in my life. Creativity is my hobby, my profession and a most fascinating occupation for me. Creativity is the passion that fuels my life and my mission.

My creative work began in a design laboratory which developed drawings for dishes. This work lasted 6 years for me. My creative nature required further development; a desire to do more with life and bolster my skills. My whole family was interested in fashion. Fashion and fashion design was my childhood dream. I organized my personal fashion studio for which I directed and worked as a fashion designer and artist. With my studio, I created my own brand of clothing called “Oxana Art”. I participated in many shows,  Defile of the Yekaterinburg fashion shows pret-a porter and in other countries, television projects devoted to fashion, in many exhibitions and live modeling performances. It was a successful career in fashion and I developed my brand for many years.

But as the years passed and another dream arose, I began to completely devote myself to painting. In January of 2017, I changed my career focus. I have and continue to spend much of my time painting and preparing collections for local art exhibits and judged competitions. Now I’m concentrating my efforts and creativity to develop a new artistic collection in my new studio in Houston, Texas.

I think that every artist asks himself the question – what will be creativity of the future? And tries to answer this question with his own Works.
I take my work seriously. I am passionate and disciplined.
There is a source of my inspiration within me. My feelings, desires and emotions  correspond to my state of mind. At this stage of my life, my work is devoted to the study of some vital need – the development of my individual and my tasks in this world.
I hope my paintings will entice other people to start their own spiritual search to seek meaning and to learn the essence of questions which burden their curiosity.
I think that my creativity is consonant with many people.
I am pleased when my work brings aesthetic pleasure and has a strong visual effect at a great distance and close-up. I also enjoy when viewers want to view small details, shades and glare, flickering colors and semitones.
When people find satisfaction in my work, I believe that a small step has been taken in my mission to give something to this world and humanity.
